What is a Sommelier?
A sommelier, or wine steward, is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, normally working in fine restaurants, who specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing. The role is much more specialized and informed than that of a wine waiter: In fine dining, today the role is strategically on a par with that of the executive chef or chef de cuisine.

Wine Tastings are always fun but the element of magic takes it to another level. Magic can be interweaved between wines in a flight or performed after the tasting. The tasting can be as in-depth and informative as the host wants. Choose from either a simple, relaxing tasting where a couple of tasting notes and stories of the wines and wineries are given; to a very educational experience which discusses how wine is made, how to taste, and how soil, climate, and regional variations affect the wines. There is also a happy medium. Contact Ben with questions.
Magic and wine dinners typically feature 3-5 course meals with a wine to pair with each course. The host will dictate how educational they want the wine dinner to be. Close-up strolling magic can be performed before the wine dinner during the cocktail hour, or as a straight show at the end of the dinner when the last course of wine and dessert has been served.
Some examples of tastings and wine pairings offered are…
Multiple varietal (red. white, rose or all three
Old World vs New World
Specific country and or region and its varietals
Vertical or horizontal tastings
